CBC Construction was engaged as the main contractor for the redevelopment of 266 Cameron Road, Tauranga, delivering a complex retail project that combined a new-build tenancy for Chemist Warehouse with a significant extension and refurbishment of the existing Noel Leeming store.

A key challenge of the project was maintaining Noel Leeming’s trading operations throughout construction. Careful staging, detailed planning, and close coordination with the client, tenants, and subcontractors enabled works to be completed safely and efficiently while minimising disruption to customers and staff. Operating within a live retail environment required proactive management of access, logistics, noise, and site interfaces to ensure the store remained fully operational.

The completed development provides modern, high-quality retail facilities for two leading national brands and demonstrates CBC Construction’s capability to deliver complex commercial projects where business continuity, stakeholder management, and construction excellence are critical to success.
