Constructing a seven unit retirement apartment complex with single lane access and no turning point was a challenge in its own right. The three storey plus basement carpark project was a logistical problem which required clever programming and planning to ensure that road closures on one of Tauranga’s busiest streets did not affect traffic too much. The basement excavation exposed soil anchors of the neighbouring shotcrete retaining wall between the development and Waihi Road. Securing these was essential for the safety of all concerned. The completion of this project on time and on budget was a testament to the skills of CBC’s Project Manager.
